New Zincalume® Roof for Geelong West Home

True Blue Roofing Pty Ltd have recently completed this re-roofing project in Geelong West.  Geelong West is a residential and commercial suburb of Geelong, Victoria and features Pakington Street which is Geelong’s centre of cosmopolitan and multiculturalism.

This beautiful home was undergoing a complete renovation inside and out and the owner decided that a new roof was desperately needed.  True Blue Roofing were called in to remove the old galvanised iron custom orb roof sheets and replace with new Zincalume® steel corrugated iron (also known as custom orb profile).

The zinc/aluminium alloy coating on ZINCALUME® steel imparts corrosion resistance of up to four times the life of galvanised steel.  The BlueScope Steel Australia website offers the following description and features of the product:

True Blue Roofing Pty Ltd also installed new Zincalume® ridges, flashings and valleys as well as new Colorbond quad gutters and PVC downpipes as a part of the roof replacement process.

As a part of the new roof installation the owner requested that True Blue Roofing Pty Ltd install new insulation under the Zincalume® steel.

Note: When re-roofing historic homes, it is worth thinking seriously about adding insulation during the new roof installation.  Adding insulation in the roof of the home can significantly increase the comfort and energy performance of the home when installed by a licensed roof plumber.
